Crux: The basic, central, or critical point or feature. The hardest move on a climb.

Climbing and Mountaineering bring us into contact with the awesome and spectacular. On the one hand we are very small - just specks in the alpine environment. On the other hand we are precious - each known by name and held in the hands and heart of a loving God. We climb for many reasons. Some love the challenge of making it through the crux move whether pulling through an overhang or smearing up a section of dime edges and micro-dishes. Others gaze in awe at blue ice under cracking seracs and simply love the smell of the golden-yellow blooms and purple-red alpen roses.

There is someone who has been sure in purpose from the beginning and who made the crux move some 2000 years ago. He put it all on the line to win a prize that he treasures more than gold. Yes, Jesus Christ gave up his life to gain you. To give you his own life so that you can be one with him and take in his very nature and essence. This way, the resonating call within us and in him, that was first spoken by Adam after the fall - "It is not good to be alone." - would be answered. Come join the expedition.
